Jarin Taslem Mourosi from Bangladesh is a PhD candidate in microbiology at The Catholic University of America, researching CRISPR engineering of T4 bacteriophages to develop vaccines for Dengue and Zika. She earned her bachelor’s in Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology from Shahjalal University of Science and Technology and was awarded the AAUW International Fellowship (\$20,000) in 2021, along with the Cosmos Club Foundation’s Joseph McLaughlin Meritorious Award for her thesis research.
