Top Schools Offering Computer Science in Croatia
1. University of Zagreb
The University of Zagreb was founded in 1669, when Leopold I Habsburg granted university status and privileges to the Jesuit Academy of the Royal Free City of Zagreb. It is the oldest and largest university in South-Eastern Europe. The university operates through 29 faculties, three art academies, and the University Centre for Croatian Studies.
Students interested in computing can study through the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computing. The faculty offers two bachelor’s programs in English: Computing and Electrical Engineering and Information Technology. Both programs take three years, or six semesters, and carry 180 ECTS credits. The Computing program awards a Bachelor of Science in Computing. Students attend about 20 lecture hours per week and complete continuous assessments through homework, periodic tests, a midterm exam, and a final exam.
At the master’s level, relevant English-language options include Computing – Data Science and Information and Communication Technology – Control Systems and Robotics. 2. University of Rijeka

RIT Croatia is a global campus of the New York-based Rochester Institute of Technology. RIT’s global campus in Croatia opened in 1997 and now has campuses in Zagreb and Dubrovnik. Students who complete an undergraduate program receive an American degree from RIT and a Croatian degree from RIT Croatia.
Computing-related undergraduate options include the Web and Mobile Computing BS and Cybersecurity BS. The program was formally approved in 2025 and takes three years of full-time study. It is delivered in English across locations in Zagreb and Novo Mesto.
