Norwegian institutions offer internationally accredited business education as well as several programs taught in English. Although earning a degree does not guarantee career success, factors such as accreditation, curriculum quality, internship opportunities, and links with employers can help students evaluate their options. Top Business Schools in Norway
1. BI Norwegian Business School
BI Norwegian Business School holds AACSB, AMBA, and EQUIS accreditation, a combination commonly known as Triple Crown accreditation. BI states that it is among the approximately 1% of business schools worldwide to hold all three accreditations. In the Financial Times European Business Schools Ranking 2025, BI ranked 40th in Europe and was the highest-ranked Norwegian institution.
BI highlights its modern learning facilities, active student organizations, social activities, and career-development opportunities. Its programs are designed to combine academic learning with practical business perspectives and opportunities to build professional networks.
BI offers bachelor’s, master’s, and Ph.D. programs, including programs taught entirely in English. Eligible bachelor’s and master’s students may also complete credit-bearing internships that allow them to apply academic knowledge in a professional setting.
2. NHH Norwegian School of Economics
NHH Norwegian School of Economics is Norway’s only member of CEMS, the Global Alliance in Management Education. Eligible students enrolled in NHH’s Master of Science program may apply to complete the CEMS Master’s in International Management. The CEMS program combines coursework at a student’s home and host institutions with seminars and an applied business project.
NHH ranked 51st in the Financial Times European Business Schools Ranking 2025. The University of Agder (UiA) School of Business and Law is accredited by AACSB, an international accreditation organization for business education. The school is organized into the Department of Economics and Finance, the Department of Management and Innovation, and the Rike Department of Law.
The UiA School of Business and Law conducts research and teaching in areas such as economics, finance, management, innovation, entrepreneurship, sustainability, and law. Its strategy emphasizes cooperation with businesses, public-sector organizations, industry associations, and other external partners.
The school offers bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral education. Some programs and courses are taught in English, including the compulsory courses in the Master’s in Management and Business Development, while many other degree programs are primarily taught in Norwegian. Selected programs also provide internship and practice-oriented learning opportunities, although an internship is not a universal final-year requirement for every business student.
4. Norwegian University of Science and Technology
The Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU) is one of Norway’s largest universities, with approximately 43,500 registered students. Although its main academic profile is science and technology, NTNU also offers programs in economics, business, management, entrepreneurship, and related disciplines.
NTNU’s Faculty of Economics and Management offers 26 programs of study and conducts interdisciplinary research spanning economics, management, innovation, and technology. Its research activities include cooperation with Norwegian industry, the public sector, and national and international research partners.
The faculty offers bachelor’s, master’s, and Ph.D. education. Many bachelor’s and Norwegian-language master’s programs require proficiency in Norwegian, while selected master’s programs and exchange courses are taught in English. Internship courses are available in certain programs, allowing participating students to apply academic knowledge in Norwegian or international organizations.
5. University of Oslo
Founded in 1811, the University of Oslo is Norway’s oldest university. Although it is a comprehensive university rather than a dedicated business school, it offers a business-related master’s program in entrepreneurship and innovation. In the Times Higher Education World University Rankings 2026, the university ranked joint 113th globally and joint 42nd in Europe.
The University of Oslo offers a two-year, 120-ECTS Master of Science in Entrepreneurship and Innovation Management. The program combines coursework in entrepreneurship and innovation with projects and a master’s thesis. Selected students may also apply for an additional 25-ECTS summer program with study opportunities at partner institutions in the United States or Canada, including Boston University, the University of California, Berkeley, and the University of Toronto.
