The Ashinaga Africa Initiative (AAI) is a program that supports orphaned students from sub-Saharan Africa to become future leaders. It provides scholarships for international university degrees, leadership training, and other support. Since 2014, AAI has supported students from 48 of the 49 sub-Saharan African countries.

  • A citizen of and have completed or will complete high school in one of these sub-Saharan African countries: Benin, Burkina Faso, Burundi, Cameroon, Central African Republic, Comoros, Republic of Congo (Brazzaville), Democratic Republic of Congo (Kinshasa), Côte d’Ivoire, Djibouti, Gabon, Guinea, Equatorial Guinea, Madagascar, Mali, Niger, Senegal, Seychelles, Chad, or Togo.
  • Demonstrating an exceptional academic performance with a top 10% class ranking in the final 2-3 years of secondary school and university, if applicable.
  • Proficient in French
  • Unable to afford international university education without financial assistance.
